This Brooks Brothers sheath dress + jacket dream team is polished, sophisticated, and somehow also a complete no-brainer. You know how some looks style themselves? This is one. It owes its success to the texture and interest delivered through boucle fabric. It’s a rich, cotton-blend weave that essentially had a lot of thought put into it. So you don’t have to think twice before putting it on. In addition to being a styling cinch, this is also one of those rare and elusive all-season sets.
It’s as appropriate in the spring and summer with navy flats as it is in the fall and winter with navy tights and high heels. This is one of those guilt-free investments you can have complete confidence in given the timeless style and high quality craftsmanship (and BTW there’s also a matching skirt). If you’re looking for more options along these lines, just wait ’til you get to the bottom of this post and see my round-up of more drool-worthy sets…

This particular sheath dress and jacket pairing is great because the high neck and slightly tucked waist give the dress a beautiful shape,. Plus, the matching jacket prevents any rogue chilly moments while still letting the professional beauty of the dress shine. You only need simple accessories, your favorite daytime lip color and a classic shoe to complete the look.

And don’t stress thinking it’s all business, all the time. Post-work plans are no match—no pun intended—for this set. Simply lose (figuratively, omg—remember where you put it) the jacket. Then you’re perfectly styled for dinner or drinks. Or both of these things at the same time. Even better if there’s a chance for you to swap out your work tote for a simple I-just-need-my-keys-phone-and-wallet clutch.

I was so excited to see this post! I am obsessed with coordinated sets – SO easy to get dressed in the morning and it’s the perfect start to anyone trying out a capsule wardrobe because you can mix and match in so many ways. These are all gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t commented in ages. I guess I kind of felt abandoned. I know you’ve expanded your horizons and I actually applaud that. However, I admit that I’ve missed posts like this. Brooks Brothers and St. John are such classics for the working woman, especially those in a more conservative environment, and I’ve missed seeing them. Thanks for returning to the classics at least for a brief time.

This post is a breath of fresh (Brooks Brothers) air. Always a go-to store for me. Well made classics without the stuffy boredom. I don’t work in a conservative office, but frequently lean towards outfits like this one.

So, I love that Zac Posen is their creative director now because he does such great midi dresses for his eponymous brand but the skirts on the Brooks Brothers brand are always too short for long-legged gals like me. Wish this dress was just a couple of inches longer.
BTW, when are you going to do a piece on Goat dresses? They’re on sale at the Outnet & look really nice, but can’t find any reviews on them!
I love your style.
