Casual Friday: Je T’aime
Background Sculpture: Love by Ana Tzarev One week from today is the holiday that everyone loves to hate… and/or hates to love… or maybe just hates… or maybe just loves. (Perhaps I should write an entire post further exploring all possible permutations. That would be thrilling, no?)Alright look, do I think that covering oneself in red or pink glitter is requisite in honoring St. Valentine every February 14th? Definitely no.I’ve rarely encountered a set of red sequins (Dorothy excluded) that didn’t make me contemplate my own mortality, and yet, I kind of really like this sweater.AND, in addition to my uncharacteristic fondness for the amorous knitwear, Valentine’s Day does, in fact, land on Friday next week. Coincidence? Maybe. However, we must ask ourselves, is this the universe’s way of bringing me and this bedazzled masterwork together in Casual Friday bliss? I think definitely yes. Graphic tees and sweaters (and certainly their sequined equivalents) are probably not something that routinely should be donned in a professional setting. However, if you have a casual office and/or your business formal office is blessed with the institution of Casual Friday, this look could definitely fly for V-Day. I mean, if dudes can wear giant cartoon santas on their ties for the entire month of December, I think we can be a little festive too once a year.
