Colorblocked Shirt: Gap | Denim Skirt: American Apparel (check out several more of my favorite denim pencil skirts below) | Belt: Gap (similar here) | Shoes: Nine West | Necklace: old but similar here and more below | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Nails: Essie (Fiji)
I was working out of San Francisco last week and as you can see, these brightly colored homes served up a healthy dose of inspiration for today’s post. I’ve classified this ensemble as “casual” because I’m sporting a denim pencil skirt, but if you swapped out the denim for a slightly more formal fabric, this outfit could swing at most conservative offices as well.
In addition to the pencil skirt I’m wearing above, I’m a huge fan of the denim pencil skirts below and am especially hoping to add this one to my collection. Combining the more conservative “pencil” silhouette with the traditionally informal nature of denim allows for these skirts to go from Casual Friday at the office to laid-back weekend wear without a hitch. Holy versatility, Batman.
Happy Memorial Day weekend!!

When you do the ubiquitous crossed-legs-while-standing pose, you should try sending your top foot forward or standing with your heels slightly off the ground and see how it comes out. More flattering leg. Check out AP.. Blair Eadie does a nice job with this pose usually.
This outfit is GORGEOUS. I love how the colorblock is reflected in the houses!!
absolutely adore the colorblock with the pencil skirt! and the background is awesome!
