My Favorite Murder
Wow okay you guys are super into murder, cool. *Backs away slowly.* In all seriousness, this one came in at number one with a… yep, bullet, and after reading more about it, this true crime series hosted by comedians Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark has risen to the top of my list. Morbid? Yes. Intriguing? Also yes.
2
Armchair Expert
The guests on this one! It’s hosted by Dax Shepard, and explores the “messiness of being human.” Diving into the challenges faced by some fairly famous folks (Sophia Bush, Jason Biggs, Sean Hayes Just Jack) I’m so interested in hearing these guests talk about things beyond the basic celeb interview.
3
The Daily
I mean, it’s the New York Times’ podcast, need I put frosting on this one for you? Think of it as all the news that fits in 20 minutes.
4
Dr. Death
Cute title! This podcast tells true stories of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a Texas surgeon convicted of gross malpractice for… things you get convicted of gross malpractice for. I’m nervous, but I’ll give it a listen.
5
Bitch Sesh
If you’re into The Real Housewives, this one’s for you. It’s literally a podcast recapping the best moments from The Real Housewives on Bravo and apparently a LOT of you are super into it. It’s hosted by Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider, aka the “Hotwives” of Las Vegas.
6
Serial
Is there anyone left on the surface of this blue planet who has not yet heard of this true crime podcast? If somehow you’ve been in a cabin in the woods for the last several years, this one follows one really, really interesting and insane case per season, and you literally will not be able to take your AirPods out of your ears.

How I Built This
NPR has a pretty great track record when it comes to podcasts (helloooo All Things Considered) so this one, covering success stories from “innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists” should be at the top of your must-listen list. It’s definitely at the top of mine.
8
Pod Save America
Keep up with politics and sound smart at dinner. Essential podcast listening for anyone who cares about what goes on in our government or maybe who is just a living human person, I dunno.
9
Girls Gotta Eat
So it’s not about food, this podcast run by two hilarious women is actually about modern dating and relationships and all the situations you’d imagine that come along with that.
10
Revisionist History
This historical (obvs) podcast covers overlooked moments in history, revisiting them and exploring things about them that have perhaps been understood. You’ll feel smarter just knowing this exists, honestly.
11
Crime Junkie
Dudes, we’re super into crime! It’s a true crime podcast, as you’d expect, it’s just like a reeeeeeally good one apparently. You in? I’m in.
12
Dirty John
This podcast is based on the life of John Meehan, a con artist and sociopath. Oh yeah, we’re still in the crime world, don’t think we left. Originally released in 2017, it seems you guys got into this one over the last year, and it’s not shocking—this podcast was downloaded over 10 million times within six weeks of its release. Wowza.
