Everything in life is about balance, and your wardrobe is no exception. I enjoy both my classic workwear and eveningwear pieces just as much as my more casual fare, and thanks to places like Athleta, your comfy activewear can feel just as stylish, just as “you,” as your favorite LBD. I think that comes to life really well in this look I’m wearing here on a holiday weekend that includes no less than one fussy infant, twenty-five errands, five loads of laundry, 60 minutes of working out, and a partridge in a pear tree.
For outerwear, I’m wearing the Vortex Reversible Down Parka.
You are correct, this is like buying two coats in one. It’s oversized, hits below your rear-region so you’re not frozen from the waist-down, and each side is supplied with plenty of softness, warmth, and pockets. While I’m all for a classic olive parka look (the flip side of this coat), I can’t get enough of all things emerald this season, and naturally, I was not about to pass up a monochromatic moment if I can help it.
ADDITIONAL OUTERWEAR FAVORITES FROM ATHLETA
Shall we discuss these shimmery emerald leggings now? K, great. I didn’t know comfy activewear could be chic, festive and super functional until I met these Elation Ultra High Rise Shimmer Tights. They’re the ultimate errands-to-cardio leggings, as they offer a gentle compression and a three-layer waistband with a mesh inner lining for comfort that’s also supportive. I love that the green hue has subtle shimmer that feels super fun for the holidays, but not too over-the-top to continue their usefulness all year round. I’m also hugely grateful that nearly all of Athleta’s pieces come in regular, petite, tall and plus sizing because finding leggings and joggers that are long enough is always a pain. I also purchased this particular pair in black and bought these joggers which I’ve been wearing nonstop as well.
They are so unbelievably soft!
On top, I’ve got the Coaster Luxe Sweatshirt which you would have to pry from my cold, dead hands if you ever want me to part from its perfectly-oversized softness. It has a cozy brushed interior and I love that this falls below the waist, too—almost like a tunic but not quite that long.
For headwear today, I’m wearing the Snow Leopard Reflective Cap, partially because washing our hair should be optional, but also because it’s too darn cute. P.S.—if you’ve been struggling with gifts to give your girlfriends this year, this cap is incredibly well priced, versatile, and universally flattering.

Some people make their holiday wish lists with no problems, but if you’ve been having trouble telling people what you actually want, check out Athleta (and I’d suggest you don’t skip their Sherpa Shop). I mean, when’s the last time you gave your activewear a proper refresh? Doesn’t letting your loved ones do it for you sound more fun? I think so.
After the holiday party season ends, we still have more than three months of winter left. Don’t let this scare you—see it as an opportunity to get the most out of your super stylish activewear on all your out-of-office days. I certainly will.
