Doona Car Seat Stroller (with weather shield + padded travel bag)
Right, I have to leave the house with this child! Fun stuff. This stroller is like something out of Transformers. When working on my baby registry, this was the number one thing every city mom told me to get and man were they RIGHT. It is a thickly padded, infant-cradling car seat that is also somehow magically a stroller. It morphs before your eyes with little effort and makes getting around the city (and getting in and out of cabs) with an infant as easy as that task is ever going to be. I love the weather shield because I never know what NYC is going to have in store for me, and the travel bag because you’ll need something to protect it when gate-checking on an airplane.

Baby Bjorn Mini Carrier
Hello, I’m Mary, human kangaroo, nice to meet you. While a stroller is nice, sometimes it’s actually preferable to just go ahead and wear your kid. This small version of a Baby Bjorn carrier is perfect for infants and super easy to use. It’s comfortable and supportive for both Colette and I, and there’s just something nice about being able to snuggle her on a quick coffee run, you know?

4moms Playard
Apparently I really love things that change into other things, because after a five day trip to a family wedding with a newborn, I would literally fight you if you tried to take this from me. I discovered this playard at my local buybuy BABY when asking their amazing customer service associate, Christopher, what in the world I should do about a travel bassinet for a newborn. He could not have been more knowledgable or helpful in directing us to this amazing product (and about 27 other fantastic things)! The 4moms Playard is an extremely portable and easy to use playard (you can literally set-up and take-down with one hand tied behind your back), and it is also a massively convenient bassinet and changing table too! It grows with your kiddo (and back again, for kiddo #2!). If you have upcoming travel plans and you also happen to have a baby, I cannot recommend this item enough. The fewer items that can do more jobs, the better.

Haakaa Pump + Cap
When breastfeeding, you really don’t want any obstacles in between you and the need to pump. This breast pump is unique in that it doesn’t require batteries or cords of any kind! It’s a food-grade silicone pump that operates with silent suction, so it’s discreet and allows you to pump without carrying around any machinery. It also has a suction base, so you won’t accidentally topple it over and waste milk (there’s a dad joke to be made here about crying over spilled milk but I’m just too sleep-deprived). With the super secure-fitting cap, I never leave home without this thing in my purse.

Love To Dream Swaddle + Halo Sleepsack
I don’t know why babies enjoy being dressed in cocoons, but I’m kind of jealous. We’ve been using these two swaddling and sleep sack options for day and night with Colette (she wasn’t a fan of more traditional swaddles), and in addition to being so comfy looking, they’re also incredibly soothing and safe options that replace loose blankets in your bassinet or crib. Both machine washable and easy to care for, of course. Honestly, I need to find them in adult-sizes.

Magnetic Me Onesies
Believe me when I say that the little miss already has quite the wardrobe, but at the same time I also have a HUGE need for everyday onesies that are easy on-and-off for unexpected changes—the reasons for which I’ll leave to your imagination. The closures on this onesie are magnetic, so dressing/undressing is MUCH faster, and extremely cute—as a bonus. I’m telling you, snapping thirty snaps up the length of a screaming infant at 4AM is a fool’s game. This is another product that the amazing Christopher at my local buybuy BABY suggested, and I could not be more grateful because the magnetic closures on these onesies are every tired parent’s savior. They’re a bit pricier than other onesies, but truly worth every penny. I’d rather have one of these and have to wash it twice a day than ten snap-up onesies. The love is so very real.
Thanks to buybuy BABY and ShopStyle for partnering on this post!
