Sunday, April 6, 2014: The photographs of me in this Tory Burch ensemble were taken in New York City.Tuesday, April 8, 2014: Kate Middleton is seen wearing a very similar Tory Burch dress in New Zealand.Am I saying that she copied me? I mean, I think we can all agree that the facts speak for themselves. I don’t want to make accusations, but it’s pretty obvious. To make matters worse, she of course had to out-stage me by accessorizing with the tiniest, cutest future monarch alive. I can’t compete with that.In other, less delusional news, you may have noticed that I recently changed my instagram handle from @theclassycubicle to @maryorton. I know, big moves. For those of you confused by this change, have no fear, the content is still the same, just the name has been altered. On instagram, I chronicle both office-ready looks that are included on the blog here, and much more, including weekend ensembles and general sartorial inspiration. To avoid confusion about whether everything depicted on instagram is work-worthy, I decided to make the switch. Thanks for following along!

As some of you have noted, I’ve worn sandals (GASP!) in this post and the previous post below. It’s important to note that this footwear is not universally appropriate in all offices–particularly those that are more formal and/or conservative. As always, you must alter according to your own unique work environment since appropriate office attire varies so widely across industries and geographies. In warmer months, tailored sandals are commonplace and perfectly appropriate in many casual and creative work environments. However, if you’re a lawyer making a court appearance, for example, I would recommend opting for something like this nude pump. I refuse to take responsibility if the judge holds you in contempt for flagrant toe exposure in the courtroom (although that would be kind of awesome).
You guys. These sandals. Thanks to Sole Society, today I’m featuring a pair of sandals that I’m hoping to soon have permanently fused to my feet so that I never have to take them off. I need a new word for obsessed. When I’m not talking about them, I plan on walking in them, sleeping in them, eating in them, cleaning my bathroom in them, playing basketball in them… you get the picture. I am legitimately in disbelief at Sole Society‘s ability to achieve the ultimate trifecta of cuteness, low-cost, and comfort. I wasn’t even joking about the basketball part. They’re so comfortable, it’s stupid. They also come in ‘black‘ and ‘grey cloud‘ so check them out. And, while you’re at it, take a gander through the rest of Sole Society‘s amazing collection of shoes, handbags and accessories. I’m pretty sure you’re about to discover your new favorite e-tailer. In addition to the ‘Shop the Post’ widget below where you can find all the items I’m wearing in today’s post, I’ve also included another widget containing all of my Sole Society favorites. Forget about that Lenten ban on shopping for a second. Thanks to Sole Society’s great quality and low prices, your feet and your wallet will thank you.
