We’re enjoying a few days of R&R in Florida with family this week, and the sun and sand couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Between the snowstorm happening in NYC and our grueling past several weeks of work, a little time to recharge our batteries on the beach has been just what the doctor ordered. This orangey-red off-the-shoulder midi dress has been on repeat this trip and has proven to be one of those sleek, simple beauties that can be as easily dressed up for a wedding with heels as it can be dressed down for a casual day at the beach with comfy slides. The bold hue is one of my favorites for spring and summer, and I’ve rounded up several more in this color below…

I spend the majority of my workdays running from meeting to meeting or working out of our Trove offices in Soho, but the hours required in running two businesses is much more than your typical 9-to-5. When I’m working late into the night or weekend, which happens more than I’d like to admit, I need a space at home where I can keep the creative juices flowing and be productive.

When we first moved in, work was so busy that I thought I’d have to hire an interior designer to get this place decorated. However, I enjoy the design process too dang much and just didn’t want to pass up the chance to take the room from blank canvas to vibrant workspace. In the end, I was able to fill the space with really personal touches which resulted in a room that feels entirely my own, making it well worth the wait.

Happy Friday! It seemed apropos to end the week with this tropical blazer as we prepare to leave tomorrow for sunny weather. After several seasons where neutral palettes were the way to go, bold colors and prints are taking center stage for spring and summer, and this floral statement blazer plays right into those trends. It also comes in this color, and for a more affordable alternative, I love this one, this one and more below!
I have to say that I’m pretty excited headbands are making a comeback right now. I got this gold double-banded headband last summer and never really started wearing it until the last month or two. Luckily, it’s still for sale here, and since I’ve been wearing it like crazy, I’m looking to grow my collection with this beauty as well.
Next week, I’ll be sharing something exciting here on Memorandum, so be to check back in mid-morning on Monday! In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend!
The interesting juxtaposition of an athletic silhouette with a refined floral jacquard makes the floral bomber jacket one of my favorite trends for spring and summer. I wore this ensemble earlier in the workweek, but it can look as good with your favorite pair of jeans on the weekend as it can with this pair of pleated trousers for the office. Better yet, throw it over your shoulders this summer when sporting a simple white dress, and you’ve got yourself a winning look in my book. The colors are just too beautiful for words…
While the changing temperatures can mess with your mind—sunny one day and back to freezing temperatures the next—they’re my favorite time of year for fashion. Not only is it exciting to start donning some of your favorite Spring pieces after a long Winter, but the temperamental weather forces you to get creative with layers, which always make for the most interesting looks.
I bought this magenta jacquard midi dress last summer but didn’t end up having the chance to wear it. Employing my favorite layering trick, I wore a classic white collared shirt underneath and belted a tailored blazer on top for this Winter-meets-Spring ensemble.
I’m all about the embroidery trend this spring, and these sneakers were the perfect way to dip my toe into warm weather last weekend when we had some sun. My jacket is a new favorite, with cool lace-up detailing that amps up your basic moto jacket. It’s made by Blank NYC which also makes this insanely gorgeous (and CHEAP!) embroidered moto jacket which just happens to be included in the crazy Shopbop sale going on now. Also included in the sale are the Phillip Lim joggers I’m wearing which I also recently wore in this post, and have otherwise been wearing basically every day. They also come in a navy version here which I currently have in my shopping cart. If you haven’t hit up the Shopbop sale definitely get on that STAT. It ends soon and things are selling out left and right. I’m currently shopping for an upcoming trip to Florida and just purchased these gorgeous white pants and this pretty top. Once the workday is over, I’m definitely going back to score some sandals and a few dresses I have my eye on.
Speaking of the workday, I’m taking a quick break from the usual onslaught of meetings and work this morning to shoot a fun home decor project with Wayfair! I’ll be sharing it with you very soon, so stay tuned and in the meantime, check out some behind-the-scenes action on instagram (@maryorton)! Have a great weekend guys!! Xx
