    Coin Necklaces

I never thought I’d be into fashion that seems to be inspired by a pirate, but here we are. Coin necklaces are everywhere, especially those that look like the coin was bartered for under questionable circumstances.  There are so many versions to explore, but if you’re interested in just giving the trend a try, I’d start with the Shashi Warrior Necklace or this set from Anthropologie.

    Senreve Envelope Clutch

Perfect for running to meetings, this clutch is a wardrobe hero you’ll keep (and use!) forever.  It fits my 13” laptop, documents, my wallet, and a lipstick, but is sleeker than bringing a huge tote bag into a conference room.  The best part is that it fits comfortably into Senreve’s Maestra Bag, which I shared my adoration for in a look I wore last week.

    Earring Mania

Before fashion week started the team at Baublebar let me pick out favorites from their latest collection and it was definitely one of those “I’LL TAKE ONE OF EVERYTHING” moments because their new arrivals are off the charts.  I got tons of questions and compliments on this pair which is officially one of my favorite pairs of ALL TIME.  As discussed in the past, oversized studs and sculptural earrings are my all-time favorite earring style so I’m thrilled that they happen to be majorly on trend right now.  I also wore this pair last Thursday (which comes in a cool set with both…

FAQ: Do You Tailor All Of Your Clothes?

I get this question constantly, and the answer is not at all.  I get some special items tailored (i.e. timeless blazers, dressy pants that need the length let out, etc.) and I’ll also get special occasion wear tailored from time to time.  However, the vast majority of things I wear everyday (i.e. most of what you see here on Memorandum) is not tailored.  I’m a stickler for well-fitting clothing, so make clothing selections carefully, and whenever something doesn’t fit perfectly, I’ll often cinch things in with a waist belt.  Last week I did a post on all of my favorite waist…

How to Reduce Technology-Induced Eye Strain

I randomly stumbled upon these glasses on Shopbop and since I spend all day staring at either a computer or an iPhone screen, I thought I’d give them a try.  You can read the complete details here, but in a nutshell, you can wear these glasses at your desk or anytime you plan to be staring at a screen (computer, tablet or mobile device) for an extended period of time.  They reduce up to 30% of blue light emissions that cause eye strain, headaches, and disruptive sleep (hellooooo insomnia!).  I’ve been keeping them at my desk and using them constantly over the…

What Do You Think About Belt Bags?

Okay, DON’T PANIC, but one of my favorite trends of the season is a modern take on the fanny pack—the belt bag.  My favorite way to style it is pictured in this shot from fashion week, where you can see I’m wearing this See by Chloe bag over my suit like a waist belt.  Interestingly, I originally purchased it on Net-A-Porter which billed it as a belt bag, but I now see the same bag for sale on Shopbop where it’s described as a cross-body.  Bottom line: if you’re looking to dip your toe into the trend, this bag is a…

The Dreamiest Scarves You’ll Use All Year Long

My friend Helena just launched the most beautiful line of seasonless scarves.  They come in four stunning colors and are made from top-notch, super luxe cashmere. (Duh, because when it comes to quality HELENA. DOES. NOT. PLAY.)  These beauties are not just for cold weather months, I will be wearing mine while traveling all summer and also can’t wait to keep one at my desk.  Snag one before they sell out and thank me when you’re comfortably enveloped in a buttery cashmere wrap at your desk in July when it’s -50 inside your perpetually over-air-conditioned office.

    The Best Travel Jewelry Cases

I’ve gotten a few requests for my favorite travel jewelry cases lately so here’s a breakdown of the best of the best after loads of research: The brand Wolf is probably the most popular on the market and the Caroline case, was featured in “Oprahs Favorite Things” in 2016. They have a lot of options but my favorite is this one, a compact design that still holds a lot of jewelry. Not as suitable for larger costume jewelry, but for more precious and delicate pieces, it’s the best. Another great option is the Wodison Zipper Carry-on Case which has snaps to keep…

    My New iPhone Case Obsession

I recently found out about these amazing cross-body iPhone cases from Cara Van Brocklin’s instagram and immediately ordered this one from Amazon.  The accessory is part case, part cross-body bag and I can’t tell you what a game-changer it has been over the past three weeks since arriving at our door.  It’s a sleek, slim leather case that also has a snapback pocket for any cards you want to keep handy while on the move.  The best part?  The case has a detachable cross-body strap that allows you to keep your phone at-the-ready without always having to be in your hand.  When I’m…

The Best Umbrella I’ve Ever Owned

I’ve seen these clear umbrellas on TV and IRL for a million years but it wasn’t until I endured the insanely blustery, rainy spring we had here in NYC that I finally decided to hunt one down.  Needless to say, I’m completely, utterly OBSESSED.  First off, the shape of this umbrella is key.  It creates a far better protective dome around you than any of my more “compact” umbrellas, which are fine in a light drizzle, but if we’re talking serious rain (and accompanying wind) the protective dome is game changing.  Also, I always assumed the clear plastic canopy was…
