No matter how formal the party, comfort is key—especially for the hostess. You’ll be up and about keeping things organized and making sure your guests are happy—you definitely want a dress you don’t have to think about.
On this note, a high neckline is a smart choice hosting a dinner party or partaking in any kind of holiday entertaining. Lots of movement, bending and leaning to serve tableside means you need something not at all accidentally revealing. Don’t be afraid of a slight balloon sleeve like the dress I’m sporting today, but avoid anything with a dramatic bell sleeve or any hanging embellishments that might accidentally sweep through the mashed potatoes. Similarly, keep your heels on the mid-to-low side so you’re comfortable all evening.

If I could help you with meal planning and figuring out what to do when you have five dishes to warm up and only one oven, I would. Instead, I’ll make sure that no matter how hectic the day, your dress is 100% handled. See below for more favorites!
P.S. Once dinner is over tonight, snuggle up with this post and this post to snatch up the Black Friday deals that are already happening! Bright and early tomorrow morning I’ll also have a thorough list of all of the Black Friday sales you need to know about, so check back again then too! xx
