Friends, allow me to introduce you to a style category that needs little fanfare (though obviously I’m going to give it fanfare): the party dress. A party dress is a dress you wear when there is one item on the agenda and one item only: frivolity. The focus is fun, fashion, and if you can swing it, fringe. This dress has everything. It also has a permanent place in my closet. 

Here, I’m wearing the Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific Bow Tinsel A-Line Dress by the queen of jaw-dropping style moments herself, my dear friend, Blair Eadie. If you haven’t yet checked out this latest collab drop, do yourself a favor, immediately. This inclusively-sized collection is an actual dreamworld of sartorial goodness for the holiday season. Fans of things that sparkle will not be disappointed. I also picked up this, this, this and this which will be making the holiday party rounds with me all season.

The dress I’m wearing today is sleeveless with a jewel neck, a fitted waist, a delicately tiered a-line skirt, and the entire thing is covered in an explosion of tinsel-like multicolor fibers. It’s the actual, literal definition of F-U-N. Also, when in doubt, finish a dress with an organza bow at the shoulder. It’s just good business. The dress can easily be worn with a black tight or without, and is nothing short of fully festive. I also love that the peplum will be very friendly to holiday food babies.

One thing that is important to point out is that the camera simply cannot do this fabric justice. Especially on Nordstrom’s site, the dress comes across at first blush like an embellished LBD, but the multicolor metallic fibers are actually so vibrant and beautiful in person, it’s really a spectacular sight and one that’s incredibly fitting (did I just make a joke about tailoring?) of a birthday party or any holiday celebration. The fabric is also very high quality, especially at this price point.
