Amidst the constant flurry of meetings and deadlines, it’s easy to to get lost in the workaholic shuffle. While maintaining a healthy work/life balance is most definitely NOT my strong suit, (I’m told) it’s incredibly important for staying on top of your game (as well as staying connected to the important people in your life… Hi, Mom!).  While part of our trip to France was for work, Rich and I did manage to unplug and unwind a bit, spending one of our most memorable days in the breathtaking lavender fields of Provence.  After driving through the Luberon with fields of purple as far as the eye can see, we stopped at a tiny local market for provisions (and wine!) and made our way up the mountain to the tiny town of Sault where we found the perfect park overlooking an incredible sunset view.  It was certainly an experience we’ll long remember.

Whether you’re headed to a special destination or just looking forward to a staycation in your neighborhood, it’s important to take time to recharge.  Check out some of my favorite goodies below for making the most of your next weekend getaway:

  4. Kathy says:

After seeing the pictures with the lighting on the dress, would you advise wearing a half-slip underneath? I’m thinking the iconic picture of the newly engaged Princess Diana who wore no slip with her legs being revealed through the fabric of her skirt. I’m 60 so perhaps my thinking is old fashioned (?).

Enjoyed all you instagram posts and today’s is absolutely lovely.

    • Mary Orton says:

If you look closely, you’ll see that the dress does have a half-slip. The designer intended for your legs to show through from mid-thigh down. That’s part of the “look.”
